Vid fågelmatningen är det som vanligt full fight mellan koltrastarna. Maten räcker gott till alla men det skall ändå kivas om maten och bara mellan individer från samma art. Märkligt egentligen. Talgoxar, pilfinkar och alla andra arter får vara i fred men kommer en koltrast så blir det fullt "slagsmål".
En kväll hade vi -20 grader och det var fint norrsken. Det var ett "måste" att ta på sig flera lager med kläder och försöka fånga "aurora borealis" på bild. Det är inte så ofta vi får denna möjlighet så långt söderut som jag bor.
Avslutar med "sjörök", några bilder från den frostiga röken över havet. Det är en favoritmöjlighet som jag tycker mycket om när det blir riktigt kallt och isen inte hunnit lägga sig.

SvaraRaderaDie vechtende vogel heb je mooi te pakken, en dat noorderlicht schitterend , ben ook in de winter met 3 vogelvrienden naar Zweden geweest voor de Steenarend maar geen noorderlicht gezien.

Perhaps the blackbirds have an over-developed quarrelsome gene! Your great skill with a camera is once again on display, Lasse. The Northern Lights seem to have appeared in several locations south of their usual range this year. I still have not seen them, but I would gladly dress warmly and go outside if the opportunity arose. I will look forward to another year of great blog posts from you. All the best - David

SvaraRaderaThe fighting Blackbird photos are great, I see the same agressive behaviour from Greenfinches. It was worth braving the cold to get these super shots of the aurora borealis, and the mist, frosty smoke rising from the sea
is a specacular sight.

SvaraRaderaDie derde foto van de vechtende merels vind ik een hele fraaie plaat. Vreemd dat het mannetje en vrouwtje met elkaar vechten, dan moet de broodnijd wel erg hoog zijn. Wat fantastisch dat je daar het noorderlicht kon fotograferen, mooie foto's ook. Het fenomeen zeerook kende ik niet, wel zeevonk, maar dat kleurt blauw, wel bijzonder dit.

SvaraRaderaIt is always interesting to follow the behavior of birds, especially when they are fighting. Aurora borealis, an amazing light show, performed by nature itself. But also the "see-smoke" is drawing attention. I did not know that it existed. Lucky you to have seen both of these phenomena.

It's exactly the same in my garden; the blackbird doesn't tolerate any other blackbirds, but it gets along with the sparrows, tits, and the common redstart.
SvaraRaderaYou took some great photos of the blackbirds in flight. And of course, the Northern Lights—I'm always so happy to see them in a blog... they're not visible at my latitude. However, I did see them a few years ago in Vesterålen, where I spent a winter holiday.
The frosty smoke over the sea is also particularly beautiful.
