Vintern håller oss i ett järngrepp just nu. Alla små "vattenfall" har frusit. Det bildas vackra skulpturer som jag gärna vill visa denna gång. Dessutom några bilder på den tuffa strömstaren som "badar" i de kalla forsarna där vattnet fortfarande är öppet.
Nedan kommer några bilder på den morske strömstaren som sitter på iskanten och avvaktar rätt tiööfälle att hoppa i det iskalla vattnet. Som tur är är det fortfarande lite öppet vatten.

It's cold and freezing here in the Netherlands too, but in the south of the country it's ten degrees above zero, and here it's below zero.
The difference between the north and south is about three hundred kilometers.

The snowy, icy scenes could have been taken right here in Canada, Lasse. Even mighty Niagara Falls freezes at the this time of year in a cold winter. I am envious of your dipper. We don’t have them at all, but I was fortunate to see White-capped Dipper in Colombia in December. Very best wishes - David

SvaraRaderaThis year's winter caused the Motława River in Gdańsk to freeze over, flowing into the Baltic Sea, which itself partially froze over. I must admit, I'm looking forward to spring.

SvaraRaderaWat een prachtige ijssculpturen, die zul je hier niet zo snel zien, de winters zijn daar bij jou duidelijk veel kouder. Prachtig ook die waterspreeuw, het is onbegrijpelijk dat die in deze barre omstandigheden zijn kostje nog bij elkaar weet te scharrelen.

SvaraRaderaDat zijn opnames waar je van geniet, heb ze vroeger ook in Oostenrijk gefotografeerd dat is in het jaar 69 dat de watervallen bevroren waren, daar waren de wegen in de bergen nog niet geasfalteerd. Mooi dat je die Waterspreeuwen zag, 2 jaar geleden had ik in het voorjaar 4 jongen ook in Oostenrijk. Je hebt 'n mooie serie gemaakt.

In Portugal, what happens is that rivers overflow their banks and cause floods.
But among the set of images you show us, I particularly appreciate those of the Cinclus cinclus, one of my favorite birds. It is wonderful to observe it like this in a winter habitat.
